Với cây nguồn mật, phấn khá đa dạng phong phú trải đều qua các mùa vụ trong năm, xã Lạc sỹ, huyện Yên Thủy, tỉnh Hòa Bình rất thuận lợi cho phát triển nghề nuôi ong nội Apis cerana. Tuy nhiên hầu hết người nuôi ong nơi đây chưa mạnh dạn áp dụng kỹ thuật tạo chúa nhân tạo và kỹ thuật quản lý đàn ong theo mùa vụ nên chất lương ong chúa kém, thế đàn nhỏ không đồng đều, đàn ong dễ mắc bệnh về ấu trùng, mùa khan hiếm thức ăn rất nhiều đàn ong bỏ tổ bốc bay. Do vậy, trong nhiều năm qua nghề nuôi ong tại xã phát triển chậm, chưa khai thác hiệu quả nguồn tài nguyên thiên nhiên sẵn có tại địa phương Để thúc đẩy phong trào nuôi ong nội, sản xuất mật ong đảm bảo chất lượng, mở rộng qui mô nuôi ong, nâng cao thu nhập cho người dân trong xã, chương trình Phát triển vùng Yên Thủy tỉnh Hòa Bình, đã phối hợp với Trung tâm Nghiên cứu ong và Nuôi ong nhiệt đới thuộc Học Viện Nông nghiệp Viêt Nam tiến hành lớp tập huấn kỹ thuật nuôi ong nội cho các thành viên HTXNN Lạc Sỹ, từ ngày 18 đến ngày 20 tháng 6 năm 2020, tại Hội trường xóm Ong xã Lạc Sỹ thành viên HTX.
